Slugterra OC - Lex Phillips

I had noticed a distinct lack of Slugterra OCs with disabilities, so I decided to rectify that issue.

History:

Lex used to live near Undertow Cavern with her parents and Lucas. They enjoyed taking their boat out and fishing. However, one day when Lex was 10, they were attacked by pirates: their parents were killed, Lex was left scarred and deaf and Lucas became hydrophobic. As a result, they spent some time living with an aunt, who resented them for not being able to save their parents (despite them only being children - Lucas had managed to save Lex) and they moved out as soon as they were able. Lex was fifteen at the time and learning sign language and lip-reading.

At this point, they left to live in Bullseye Cavern, where Lex started training to be a slugslinger. As of now she works for anybody who hires her, regardless of intention, if only because she needs the money for support. She hopes one day to become a Shane-level expert, but relies on tech and Lucas' help until then.

Personality:

Lex isn't used to people understanding her disability and tends to be quite hot-headed and rude, which can cause a little friction between her and Lucas as he abridges some of the worse things she says that she would rather people heard properly. She isn't very patient with other people; a trait left over from the aunt that helped to raise her, and often gives up if she becomes excessively frustrated. She especially doesn't like when people yell at her, because just increasing the volume doesn't do a lot when you're completely deaf.

Her disability can work to her advantage, however, when she's out in the field. Not being able to hear anything means there is very little chance of her being distracted and allows her to focus, making it easier with difficult shots. She isn't a very famous shooter because of her attitude, and the fact that there are plenty of far more polite bounty hunters and mercenaries out there.

This is the only place her deafness is something positive, besides making silent movies a whole lot more entertaining. The rest of the time it's a massive hindrance that she has to try very hard to keep from overtaking her life and tends to isolate her from other people. Her best friend is Lucas, as he is the only one who truly understands her, and she doesn't much like communicating with anybody else.

To put it bluntly, as she would, she is an aggressive loner.

She mainly uses energy-type slugs, with a particular fondness for Tazerlings. Her favourite is named Copper.
