Description

I know what you’re thinking: ‘Rainy, please take that sock off your head! And why the gosh-darning heck does this girl have blue skin?’ Well, Lenny’s story behind that is that her great-great-grandmother had some very interesting tastes in men - that is to say, her husband was a cave troll - and Lenny is the latest generation in that family of mixed blood. Odds are that by the time she herself is a great-great-grandmother (if she so chooses) the family will be back to normal, human skin tones.

So anyway, Lenny Harper comes from Torchwood Cavern (what I named the cavern below Cardiff) and is the nerdiest worry-wart you’ll ever come across. She has a photographic memory and an IQ in excess of 150. However, not a lot of people take the time to find this out because they’re so weirded out by her blue skin and the fact that she’s part troll, which has caused her to become extremely introverted and anti-social. The only person she opens up around is Perry, on whom she has something of a crush.

I wanted to do a bit of a mix-up in a certain couple dynamic: whenever a Tomboy and Girly Girl are put together, the Girly Girl is generally sweet and soft while the Tomboy is tough and vibrant. In this case Perry, the Girly Girl, is argumentative and energetic while Lenny, the Tomboy, is almost constantly unnerved by something and tends to shy away from loud noises.

Still, what do you expect from somebody whose mother called her Leonora?

Well, the truth is actually that I couldn’t think what skin tone to give her, so I just made her blue. I almost gave her brown hair and glasses, but figured I wasn’t going for a self-insert, so here we have it. Blue skin, purple eyes and curtains that match the windows.
